Problem detected with TiVo and ReplayTVs connected to DirecTV Receiver

Wired.com is reporting a new software upgrade for the DirecTV D10 Receiver is causing problems for owners of TiVo and ReplayTV DVRs hooked up to the D10 Receiver. The problem only affects TiVo and ReplayTV units that control the receiver via a Serial cable. The software upgrade is causing the DVRs to miss recording certain shows and recording unwanted others.
