TiVo turning into Big Brother?
Tuesday September 20, 2005
It seems that every time you turn around these days, someone, or some organization, is trying to control what you can record and save. The newest example of DRM (Digital Rights Management) is TiVo using the Macrovision copy-protection scheme. Certain programs that you can record to your TiVo will either delete themselves after 7 days or be listed as "Copy Never", which means the program can't be copied at all! For more on this disturbing trend read the article "Don't let TiVo copy protection ruin your life" by Tom Merritt.
