You may be interested in the newest way to use a computer, watching and recording TV on a Desktop or Notebook PC! These PCs are known as Media Center PCs. What makes a computer a Media Center? First, the PC must have hardware to capture a TV signal, known as a TV Tuner Card. Second, the PC needs software to record the TV signal and let users pause, rewind and record Live TV, like a Digital Video Recorder. Many Media Centers come with the Windows Media Center Operating System, or you can purchase seperate software, such as SageTV or Beyond TV. Finally, Media Centers typically have large hard drives, at least 250GB or more, to store TV shows, movies, or sporting events.
