The HP Pavilion m7690y Media Center PC is a nice customizable Media Center PC from HP. The m7690y runs the Windows Media Center O/S, and comes standard with a Single Tuner TV Card (a Dual Tuner Card is an optional add-on) for watching and recording TV on your PC. The m7690y includes a large hard drive and a minimum of 1GB of memory. Larger hard drive capacities and more memory are also available. The HP Pavilion m7690y Media Center PC is a good replacement for fee-based Digital Video Recorders like TiVo or DVRs available from Cable or Satellite providers. I’m still not convinced by Media Center PCs - with the new wave of hard-disk-based PVRs, costing only £100 or so, very quiet and running their own internal OS, you’ve got a low of sweet talking to do to the wife if you want to persuade her to go down the PC route….
