The Bottom Line
Pinnacle Studio Ultimate 11 builds on previous versions of Pinnacle Studio and truly is the "Ultimate" in Video Capture, Editing and Video Output Software. A bit pricey at $129.99, but worth it if you are looking for some of the best software out there for Capturing and Editing in Native HD quality. Capture from HDV or AVCHD High Definition Camcorders, and then edit and record in HD. All the familiar studio features are present, now with a slick new interface designed to work with Windows Vista. Users will enjoy using this terrific product for all their Video Capturing and Editing needs.

What I liked about Studio Ultimate 11:
Studio Ultimate 11 is very versatile, with the ability to work with several different Capture Devices. Capture from analog sources like 8mm/Hi8 camcorders or VCRs, or capture from digital devices like DV, HDV or AVCHD camcorders. You can also import video files or photos saved to your computer's hard drive or from a non-copyrighted DVD. Studio 11 outputs to Video CD, DVD, portable devices (Apple iPod and Sony PSP), as well as a myriad of video file formats (DV, HDV, AVI, DivX, RealVideo 8, Windows Media 9, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4). HD Video from High-Def Camcorders can be edited and recorded back to the HD Camcorder or recorded to DVD for playback in a High-Def video player (Blu-ray or HD DVD) all in High Definition. A separate program called Instant DVD Recorder records from tape to DVD in one easy interface.

My only gripes with Studio Ultimate 11 is the price - at $129.99 it's a little pricier than some of its competitors - and the lack of installation instructions. My first attempt to install Studio 11 failed because I didn't install the 3 discs in the correct order, I figured it out and got it on the second try, but the lack of instructions was puzzling.
Overall, Pinnacle Studio Ultimate 11 is easy to use and is a full featured Video Capture software suite. Capture your Video, Edit it, and Output to several different formats.
