Definition:

Composite video is a format for transmitting analog television. A single cable carries all video information including colors. Of all the available analog video cables, composite will provide the lowest quality signal. As well, composite video can only carry standard definition video signals.

Composite video cables do not carry audio signals and are often found paired with audio cables.
