If you've ever shot home videos with the latest HD camcorders, you know that an SD card or the internal storage can fill up pretty quickly. The question always becomes "What do I do now?". Leaving you precious memories or even TV shows you've saved on your hard drive works, but how do you back them up to ensure they're never lost? Burn them to DVD of course! Follow this easy step-by-step to make sure you don't lose the video content you want to protect.

Step 1

To create our DVDs we'll be using Windows DVD Maker. While it's not the most feature rich DVD creation software on the market, the fact is that it's easy to use and has the options you need to produce good quality video archives including menus, text, scene selection and more.

(It should be noted that Windows DVD Maker is available in the Home Premium and Ultimate versions of Windows Vista. It is also available in the Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate and Enterprise editions of Windows 7)

To start using DVD Maker, simply open your start menu in Windows and type "Windows DVD Maker" in the search bar. There most likely will only be one selection, making finding it easy.
