Dress up that boring TV interface!

Recorded TV HD allows you to completely customize the menu strip within the Media Center UI.

Custom Menu Strips

In previous versions, Recorded TV HD would add an extra menu strip to Media Center.  This was in addition to the standard “TV” strip provided in the UI.  For me, this was a redundancy and no one in my home was using Recorded TV HD.  In the latest version however, the developer has given users the ability to not only customize the Recorded TV HD menu strip but to eliminate the standard Media Center menu strip as well.  This was the feature that made Rec. TV HD a must have add-on for my Media Center.  The ability to remove the standard strip took away all redundancy for me and I was able to get everyone in the house using one application for recorded TV.

Thinking ahead however, the developer has given you the option on how you display the program within the UI.  If you want to keep the standard menu, you can.  If you want to rearrange the icons, you can.  It goes back to the customization factor.  Recorded HD TV gives it to you in spades and you can display everything the way you choose to.

Conclusion

If you love a beautiful UI and the ability to make it look as you want it to look, you simply can't beat Recorded TV HD. The ease of use, ability to customize the look and feel and favorite lists come together to provide a great experience that is hard to find anywhere else. If you want to try it for yourself, there's a 30 day full use trial available. The full software will run you $19.99 for a single use license and $39.99 for a household license that can be used on multiple PCs. While that pricing may seem high, it was completely worth it for me and I have no doubt that it will be for most people. There's been a lot of thought put into this software and you simply can't find it anywhere else.
