ReplayTV DVR and Software

ReplayTV (now owned by DirecTV) is a Digital Video Recorder that connects to either a cable or satellite signal to record television broadcasts. It is similar to TiVo in that it requires a subscription fee to use the Electronic Program Guide, which is downloaded nightly via a phone line. This interactive guide allows users to program recordings in advance. Hard Drive sizes vary and, depending on the model, allow for recording times of 40 to 320 Hours. Like most DVRs, ReplayTV allows users to pause and instant replay live TV. DirecTV has bought ReplayTV (as of DEC 2007).
